A rightly selected chandelier can add a new dimension of elegance to your décor. An ordinary room can begin to look lustrous with a chandelier that has been carefully chosen and positioned in a room. Finding the right chandelier doesn’t have to be hard; you just need to consider the following factors while making a choice:

Location :- Where you hang your chandelier makes a significant difference in how the chandelier would impact the overall décor. Whereas the living rooms are considered to be the safest choice for a location, it is worth considering other places in the house too. For instance, a small chandelier over the tub in a bathroom for glamorous feel or a dim-lit one in your bedroom for a romantic aura – options are several and you need to use your imagination to get it right.

Size :- Size of a chandelier is a crucial consideration, given the dimension of the room. Whereas a smaller fixture might look timid and ignored, a large one may appear too commanding. A rightly-sized one is that commands admiration of the guests as well as the inhabitants. To understand the right size, there is a rule of thumb to calculate the right diameter of the chandelier. Add the length and width of the room in feet, convert that number to the inches and this number will be the diameter of your chandelier. For a chandelier hanging above your dining table, make sure that the diameter of the chandelier is around a foot less than that of the table.

Height :- Height of the chandelier should be such that it hangs at the right distance from the floor. Generally, 7 feet is a good distance between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor. However, that changes in case the chandelier is hanging above a tabletop. It should be at around 3-4 feet above the table to allow for the right visibility and illumination.

Today, they are available in various styles, shapes, sizes, with and without dimmers, and with a variety of options in lighting. So why wait? It’s time you own a great chandelier to make your living space a livelier one.
